In this section, we review the concept of long division. Long division is extremely useful when trying to divide multi-digit whole numbers. Using long division breaks the division process down into a series of smaller manageable steps. With this process, we are able to attack the dividend one digit at a time. To do this, we follow the DMSBR method: divide, multiply, subtract, bring down, repeat or remainder. We will learn about two different scenarios: the first occurs when we do not have a remainder. The second occurs when we do have a remainder.
