Multiplying Decimals

In this section, we will learn about multiplying decimals. How do we Multiply Decimals? In order to multiply two or more decimals together, we first remove the decimal points from each factor. Essentially, we are rewriting the numbers without any decimal points involved. We are pretending that we are simply multiplying whole numbers together. Once we multiply the resulting factors, we write our answer. We then look to each original number for guidance. Our next step is to count the total number of decimal places between all factors in the problem. Once this is done, we return to our earlier answer and place a visible decimal point at the end of the number. We then move our decimal point one place to the left for each decimal place that we counted between all factors of the original problem.
