Applications of Exponential and Logarithmic Functions

In this lesson, we will learn how to set up and solve word problems with exponential and logarithmic functions. Although this lesson will not cover all the possible scenarios, we will introduce many of the models that are required for solving these types of word problems. When studying this topic, you will encounter problems that involve exponential growth (doubling time), exponential growth (relative growth rate), radioactive decay, Newton's law of cooling, the pH scale, the Richter Scale, and the decibel scale.
