Applications of Quadratic Equations

In this lesson, we learn how to set up and solve application problems that involve quadratic equations. We will begin by looking at some examples that involve the pythagorean formula. Additionally, we will learn how to find the area of a rectangle given a larger area and a strip of uniform width that surrounds the rectangle. Lastly, we will look at problems that deal with the height of an object that is propelled directly upward.
