About Multiplying by Powers of 10:

When we multiply large whole numbers without a calculator, the process can become very tedious. In most cases, large whole numbers contain one or many trailing zeros. Trailing zeros are zeros at the end of the number. When these are present, we can use a special shortcut to quickly obtain our answer.

Test Objectives
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify trailing zeros
  • Demonstrate the ability to correctly find the non-zero parts
